Chris Evans Exits 'Captain America'; Still Part of 'Avengers: Infinity War'

According to Digital Spy, Chris Evans has officially confirmed that he will no longer play the role of Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Having said that, “Avengers: Infinity War” director Joe Russo hinted Evans’ exit via Filmibeat,

I think him dropping that shield (at the end of the film) is him letting go of that identity. (It’s) him admitting that certainly, the identity of Captain America was in conflict with the very personal choice that he was making.

On the bright side, Chris Evans will still be a part of “Avengers: Infinity War”. Screenwriter Christopher Markus revealed that the reason why Captain America was not killed off in “Civil War” was because the Avengers still need him to defeat Thanos in the infinity war, International Business Times has learned.

“Captain America: Civil War” will be available on digital HD, 3D, and Disney movies on September 2, 2016, and on Blu-ray 3D, DVD, and On-Demand on September 13, 2016. While “Avengers: Infinity War” hits the big screen on May 4, 2018.
