Theories for ‘The Flash’ Season 3

Theories for The Flash Season 3

Now that the Season 2 of CW’s ‘The Flash’ has wrapped up last month with a heart-wrenching, plot-twisting finale that leaves the minds of every viewer confused and hyped on what’s to come to Barry Allen’s whole universe, a number of theories circulating the events of the show’s third season are now up for talks. Well, who wouldn’t start coming up with one, as the next seasons are still months away?

As you recall, The Flash Season 2 ended with Barry running back in time (again), and actually saving his mother Nora from being murdered by Eobard Thawne. This scene was also the same event that happened in the Season 1 finale, only Barry did not go ahead with his plan to save his mom. Now that he actually did, everybody has no idea how it could affect the timeline, Barry’s identity, or even his relationships with each character on the show. This big act might even affect the fate of the other shows! Luckily, we have gathered a list of the speculations that the fans, the cast, and crew have hinted regarding the show’s future:

1. Flashpoint

Flashpoint is a famous comic series, which sees Barry Allen wake up and discover that everything is different—the heroes are the villains, the villains are the heroes, his whole world turned upside down. The worse thing is, Barry doesn’t have his powers, nor a memory of the old timeline. Barry is then set on a quest to get his powers back. Grant Gustin, the actor who plays Barry Allen on the show, confirmed on June 21 via Twitter, that the first episode of Season 3 would be entitled “Flashpoint”.

2. Lots of superheroes will come

According to the speculations of E! Online,  the happenings from the finale will “opens the doors for many characters to join the show.” Some of the iconic characters that might drop in next season are Batman, Cyborg, and Citizen Cold. The Joker,  the Furies, Heat Wave and Aquaman could also pop in, too. In an interview with Carlos Valdez, who plays Cisco Ramon/ Vibe, he would love to see Mirror Master in the next season.

3. How about the other DC shows?

Since Barry messed up basically everything, it is possible that some of the shows would be on the other Earth and vice-versa. There is a theory that Supergirl might end up on Earth-1, thus, having more crossovers with The Flash!

4. Jay Garrick

Season 2 revealed that The Man Behind The Iron Mask is the real Jay Garrick. John Wesley Shipp, the actor who plays Garrick, said producers still have “exciting” plans for his character. “I will be back next season,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “They have all kinds of exciting and interesting plans for me…they continue to spin out, which will be very challenging for me as an actor.”
